I know! I know!

I'm not a reliable blogger!  There I said it.  I want to be, honest.  There are just not enough hours in a day.  Excuses, I have a million of them.  That could be a blog post all by itself.  I have quilted, sewn for THE wedding and worked 6 days a week at the store.
This is "My Blue Heaven" I designed it many years ago, finished it this year and entered it in the Des Moines Area Quilt Guild Show.  It got an Honorable Mention, I'm sure because it was beautifully quilted by Trina Kirkvold.

We are ALMOST world-famous!

Our "Art Group" has nearly 60 art quilts at the Warren Cultural Center (also known by us locals, as the restored Opera House.  The building is fabulous.  Beautifully, lovingly restored.  Our exhibit looks particularly wonderful in that surrounding.  We will be hosting an Artist Reception on Thursday, July 25th from 4:30-5:30pm.  We will be available to sign autographs, if you desire!!

Let Me Sew, Let Me Sew, Let Me Sew!!

I'm sewing as fast as I can!!  We, Quilts & other Notions employees, had our own private Retreat last weekend.  We got so much done.  When we finished a project we threw it in the middle of the floor.  We had quite a stack.  Two were feeling particularly bad about NOT finishing a project, so when they finished their Chai tea, they put the cups in the middle.  It was a great time, Fred cooked for us and we did accomplish a lot.  Come by the store and we'll show you our projects!

Do you see a pattern here?

It must be Sunday!!  The ONLY day I have a few extra minutes to blog.  I've got a few projects to share.  We just came off our Annual Retreat.  And we have another Retreat next week...what a month!!

The top photo is my latest "Artsie" project and the bottom one is a cute new rag quilt (not yet "ragged").

So, truth be told, I have two more projects not yet finished!!  What else is new?

Time flies when you're having FUN!

We've flown a million miles!  This was our FIRST First Class flight, and I am never going back to coach.  In my mind I will be flying first class, even if I'm in the 27th row.  "They" get warm almonds and cashews in a real bowl and all the Ginger Ale they can drink in a real glass with lots of ice.  And they call you by name and tell you where your next gate will be.  And they feed you lunch and give you a hot washcloth.  They let you on and off first and send your overweight suitcase for FREE and put said suitcase off the plane first so you can be on your way quicker.  I have to say I felt very important.

We, Fred and I, went to Husqvarna Viking Convention in Tucson last week.  I LOVE convention.  I get all fired up and think I can tackle the world.  I hit the ground running and then realize the rest of my life is waiting for me to continue with all the projects I already had underway.  Reality.

But now I know about First Class.  And my life will never be the same.

Our Artsie Group is almost world famous...

We are featured Artists at the Restored Depot in Creston, Iowa. So maybe the entire world won't find out about us, but we are definitely famous in our own minds!
We'll be at the Gallery in the old Train Depot in Creston all of March. So you can visit our art quilts often.

It SNOWED!!

It's my kind of day. I love the snow. It's so pretty. It does slow business down a bit, but it was a good desk day!
The last time I posted, it was one of my brother's Birthday. I was an only child until he came along, so we have a fair amount of competition between us. Not that the 5 kids that came after him and me made any difference in our family dynamic. He is still to blame for my losing my "only child" standing. He called this week to see if I had any plans for my Birthday. I said "No," thinking I was going to get an invite. He said I better be making plans, because he didn't think I had that many Birthdays left. Nice brother!! It makes no difference who of my siblings or my Mom and Dad introduce me, they all say, "this is Joyce, she's the oldest." A girl could get a complex!!
